Mardi Gras Specials & Hours

It’s carnival time, and for several restaurants and wine shops around the city, that means King Cake flavored cocktails and purple, green and gold decor everywhere. Unfortunately, because of parade routes that block off parts of the city, some businesses have no other option than to close for a day or two during Mardi Gras.

To prevent you from experiencing that terrible feeling of walking up to a restaurant just to be greeted by a sign that says “Sorry, we are closed”… Here is a list of the special hours restaurants and wine shops will be having during Mardi Gras, as well as their Carnival specials.

Dick & Jennys  4501 Tchoupitoulas St

Due to their location and the location of the parade routes, Dick & Jenny’s will be closed Sunday through Tuesday during Carnival.  The parades line up on Napoleon and Jefferson and block off all routes to the restaurant.

Slice Pizza 5538 Magazine St

Parades and pizza, what more could you ask for? On Thoth Sunday, February 07, grab a Bloody Mary made with the top-secret Slice Pizza Sauce for $5 and enjoy a front row seat of Thoth. The parade rides down Magazine street, beginning on State Street and Tchoupitoulas, passing directly in front on Slice!

Restaurant Rebirth 857 Fulton St.

Celebrate the season with Rebirth’s new King Cake Martini. It's a blend of King Cake Vodka, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Godiva White Chocolate Liquor, and peppermint. It wouldn't be Mardi Gras without a purple, green, and gold sugar rim...and of course, the king cake baby.

Three Muses 536 Frenchman St

On Mardi Gras day, head to Frenchman Street. Three Muses will be serving Red Beans and Rice with a full service bar.

Pearl Wine Co  3700 Orleans Ave

Pearl Wine Co. has an amazing variety of carnival party supplies. From Mardi Gras fanny packs (yes, fanny packs are cool again), to secret flasks hidden in Hand Sanitizer bottles, and even purple, green and gold collared t-shirts! Pearl Wine Co. will keep you prepared for carnival season.

1,000 Figs 3141 Ponce De Leon St

Customers wanting to enjoy baba ganoush and hummus on the parade routes will have to plan ahead. 1,000 Figs will be closed Saturday, February 6 – Wednesday, February 9.

Swirl Wine Bar  3143 Ponce De Leon

Swirl will be closed on Ash Wednesday and Mardi Gras Day.

Purloo 1504 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd

Purloo will be closed on Mardi Gras day. The restaurant is regularly closed Sundays and Mondays.

Arabella Casa di Pasta 2258 St Claude Ave

Arabella will be closed on Mardi Gras day. Clever Mardi Gras cocktail concoctions and pasta dishes TBA.

Cava 785 Harrison Ave

Cava is usually open 7 days a week, but will be closed Mardi Gras day, February 9 - Wednesday February 10. Normal hours will resume Thursday from 4:00pm - till.
